Zahida Mardan Mustafa Al-Asaafi – Iraq (President of the committee)
is an Iraqi writer and researcher with a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Baghdad (1983). She served as a judicial assistant at the Supreme Judicial Council / Kirkuk Court of Appeal until her retirement in 2020, holding various roles including membership in the Juvenile Court of Kirkuk, the Personality Study Office, social research, and management of the Second Criminal Court. She completed specialized training in France and Iraq on child-related crimes and social research methods. Her notable works include Two Thousand Years in the Life of a Woman, Iraqi Women in Judiciary and Politics, and Delinquent Childhood in the Balance of the Legal System and Social Violence. She has received numerous awards and honors, with Two Thousand Years in the Life of a Woman ranked among the top 12,000 Arabic books for content quality. An active figure in social and cultural work, she is a member of several Arab and international organizations, holds an honorary doctorate, and has been listed among the Top 100 Arab Personalities for multiple years.
Dr. Naglaa El-Sayed Ahmed Khalifa – Egypt
is a member of the Women and Child Committee at Zamalek Club, a member of Sports for All, and a member of the National Council for Human Rights and Development. She works as a journalist for Sho’on El-Bilad newspaper and is an internationally accredited member of the Al-Amal Foundation for International Justice and Peace. She is a former candidate for the Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, a jury member of the Kings and Queens of Beauty and Creativity Competition, and a member of the Arab Writers and Intellectuals Association.
Dr. Amal Mahfouth Saeed Baqareen – Yemen
serves as Director of the Girls’ Education Development Department at the Ministry of Education Office in Wadi and Desert, Hadramout Governorate. She is Head of the Working Women’s Division at the General Federation of Trade Unions in Wadi and Desert, and a member of the Supreme Committee of the Hadramout Inclusive Conference as Deputy Head of the Women’s Division. She is also a member of the Arab Writers and Intellectuals Association (Women and Child Committee), and works as a consultant and trainer for the Social Fund for Development – Mukalla Branch, as well as the Public Works Project – Mukalla Branch. A political and social activist, she has participated in numerous international trainings to support women’s leadership and political empowerment, and has represented the Hadramout Inclusive Conference in both domestic and international delegations.
Sara Abu Jabal – Jordan
holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Yarmouk University, where her thesis focused on “Changes Associated with the Elderly During the COVID-19 Pandemic”, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work from the same university. She has over three years of experience in community initiatives and activities, working as a life skills trainer and contributing to the implementation of awareness and development programs targeting diverse groups within the community. Her notable participation record includes: joining the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign, providing student counseling at Nahr Al-Uloom School to enhance students’ psychological and social support, participating in the Crown Prince Award for Voluntary Work 2024, and representing youth in the National Debates at the Kingdom level in 2024 as a model of conscious and proactive youth.
Karam Salam – Syria
is a visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts and extensive professional experience in the humanitarian and social fields. She worked for over ten years with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, undertaking various roles that contributed to serving the community and supporting the most vulnerable groups. She enhanced her skills by earning a Diploma in Human Development, enabling her to work as a trainer in several institutions and training centers. She currently continues her humanitarian mission through her work with SOS Children’s Villages, where she contributes to caring for and empowering children within a safe and stable alternative family environment.
Maryam Hamdan – Jordan
A researcher specializing in children’s literature and women’s studies, deeply passionate about exploring the role stories can play in shaping young minds, enhancing the status of women, and fostering societal values. Her research interests focus on how literature can promote empathy, raise social awareness, and challenge gender stereotypes.She possesses solid expertise in literary analysis, creative writing, and academic research, employing this expertise to study the educational and transformative power of literature as an effective tool for building awareness and creating a positive impact in society.
