:Abstract
The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a counseling program in improving the psychological and social adjustment of teenage girls in Al Noor Secondary School. The study relied on the semi-experimental method.
The population of the study consisted of (120) female students from the eleventh grade. The study sample consisted of (16) teenage female students who suffered from poor psychological and social adjustment after applying the psychological and social adjustment scale to them. The sample was divided into two groups: a control group and an experimental group.
Tools of the study included the counseling program and the psychological and social adjustment scale, which was prepared by the researcher.
Results of the study showed the effectiveness of the counseling program in improving the psychological and social adjustment of teenage girls from Al Noor Secondary School. The program helped in overcoming negative behaviors, achieving harmony between individual motives and needs, aligning with the customs of society, and abandoning negative thoughts.
Recommendations: The researcher recommends the need to take advantage of counseling programs to reduce poor psychological and social adjustment among students, and to educate parents and the school community about their role in improving the psychological and social adjustment of the individual.
